1.1.1 This standard covers encasement sleeves for potable water pipe and tubing, and specifies
requirements for materials, physical characteristics, performance testing, and markings.
1.1.2 Encasement sleeves covered by this standard are intended for corrosion and abrasion
protection of potable water lines and tubing in underground installations and penetration of nonâstructural floors on grade.
