IAPMO IGC 261-2015 Excess-Flow Shutoff Devices
Description
This Standard covers excess-flow shutoff devices intended for use in water supply systems and specifies requirements for materials, physical characteristics, performance testing, and markings.
Note: The intent of excess-flow shutoff devices is to protect personal property and building structures from damage caused by accidental breakage, rupture, or damage to downstream water connectors, appliances and plumbing fixtures.
Devices covered by this Standard can
(b) incorporate supply stops; and
(a) be resettable or single-use.
