1 Scope
1.1.1 This Standard covers safety plates, plate straps, and safety collars intended for use in protecting pipes running through walls, top and sole plate applications and specifies requirements for materials, physical characteristics, performance testing, and markings.
1.1.2 Products covered by this standard include safety plates and plate straps used solely as protection device and structural support system when notching occurs at the top and/or sole plates, it also applies to safety collars to be used as a protection device.
