Description
1 Scope and Purpose
1.1 This Standard covers thermostatic shower mixing valves with on‐demand hot‐water circulation systems and specifies requirements for materials, physical characteristics, performance tests, and markings.
1.2 The purpose of this Standard is to enhance water savings, energy conservation, and health and safety by:
(a) specifying acceptable criteria for thermostatic shower mixing valves with on‐demand hotwater circulation systems;
(b) serving as a guide for producers, distributors, architects, engineers, contractors, installers,
inspectors, and users and
(c) promoting the use of water in an efficient and safe manner.
